KanaKanji.com is a blog by Declan Costello about learning the Japanese language.

I want to learn Japanese in the most natural way possible and that’s by immersion.

After reading about Khatzumoto’s approach  at All Japanese All The Time I’ve decided to try and expose myself to as much Japanese as possible.

One of the ways I want to to this is by developing my reading skills and trying to read the books and webpages that I’d be interested in no matter what language they were in.

Japanese writing is notoriously difficult so expect many pitfalls along the way.

I want to use the blog as a way of motivating myself, getting in contact with other learners and recording my progress.

Declan is from Tipperary in Ireland and got married to a wonderful Japanese girl in December 2006. He’s been trying to learn Japanese since long before then but still isn’t very good.

I’ll record my progress along the way and try and show you what has worked for me and what hasn’t.
